paste QueVista and Windows Aero Theme file to Themes Folder
run VistaStart1.3
Apply Patch
**and use Display Properties to Apply the Theme(Windows Aero) other wise you will get Thin Window Borders and no Wallaper**
and thats it.. it Should work .. and also you MUST HAVE StyleXP or Theme.dll file Patched!!!!!!!! don't comearound asking y it don't work.. only ask if everthing is set properly and ur XP just don't like QueVista..
I used to use Style Xp, but then I switched to WindowsBlinds for the transparent windows, etc. Since then, my stylexp has been disabled in the options, b/c windowsblinds can get screwy. I've really been wanting to use all these new .msstyles, especially this one(yours), but I dont want to screw up my windows blinds and have to reinstall it. So my question is....If w.b. is loaded and I try to enable style xp and then apply a theme or style from there, will it mess anything up? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated, as I would love to use your theme!
After I patched the original explorer.exe, this window popped up saying some of the original files have been changed and asking me if I want to keep the modified versions (the usual crap). I kept the modified version of course.
After that the LSPatch said everything worked fine and that the text (logoff, shutdown) was removed, I pressed OK and when it tried to restart explorer.exe, it said it couldn't find it. It was gone.
Am I supposed to reboot my computer now or what? The explorer.exe was not where it's supposed to be (C:\Windows). So I had just this Firefox window opened and nothing else. Couldn't do anything.
Ctrl+Alt+Del and starting a new task "explorer" didn't help, it just said it doesn't exist. WTF?
Using the task manager I've been able to run the LSPatch one more time and restore a backup (thank god it creates one), right after that explorer.exe restarted without any problems.
And by the way, the Orb overlapping is still screwed up because I'm not using the "locked" taskbar style. It works fine when it's locked.
