to disable shadows under menus so startbutton orb appears correct you must disable the menu shadows to do this go here

1. To open System Properties, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.
2. Click the Advanced tab and, under Performance, click Settings.
3. Click the Visual Effects tab.

under here you can disable anything you wish altho the most important thing is to uncheck the
"Show Shadows under menus".
click ok or apply and close out of them windows. open the startmenu to see if it has worked.

It's great wokr, and Try to learn making Visual styles using "TGT soft StyleBuilder" and I've 2 Q plz:
1. How to decide the resolution of visual style in StyleBuilder?
2. How we can change the appearance of Common Tasks in folders from Horizontal to vertical, or change there appearance in general?

Thankx.
:iconlustmusket3000:
This is because the start menu ist on top of the screen [even if option "Always On Top" is checked in Vista Start]. The problem can be solved by
a) adding the upper part of the start orb to the start menu bmp [with ResHacker]. This only looks good if shadows are disabled! or
b) cut off the corresponding part of the start menu that hides the orb respectively make it transparent [color "pink" or sth similar makes it transparent]. You can do that with Paint or any other tool
:iconantediluvian-deviant:
no.. i think you misunderstood me.... have a look at this screen grab.... :)

excuse me! I think this problem occurs because the theme is not meant to work with text besides the buttons.
You need a tall called "ResHacker" and then you need to modify your explorer.exe:

- Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache and rename explorer.exe eg. to explorer_org or delete it

- Start ResHacker and open C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe

- Go to string table 439, line 7012 and then delete the complete line including the whole "7012"-tag

- Compile the scrip and then save the exe

- If File-Protecion is enabled, then cancel it and say that you want to keep the new version of the file

- Reboot and it should work now!

[Instead of rebooting, you eventually can kill explorer.exe with Task-Manager and then restart it]
:iconvyrus956:
yes your right but if Antediluvian wishes not to hack explorer himself he can use the one supplied

directions on how to replace are in the .rar

and lustmsket3000 how can i disable the shadows?
:iconvyrus956:
thnx..

could u explain the Grey Framecaption
:iconvyrus956:
Thanks

1. How to decide the resolution of visual style in StyleBuilder?
-you don't really well i don't its all bout Trial and Error if you do something and it don't work then try something els keep changeing settings untill you get what u want.
2. How we can change the appearance of Common Tasks in folders from Horizontal to vertical, or change there appearance in general?
-you would have to modify the ShellStyle, Personally i don't know how to do that i used those shells from KoL, soon i will learn how to modify Shells and make my own(Horzontal, Bottom)
